Imaginary Encounters is a multi-media art project that blends poetry, comics and cinema: a series of visual Haiku. Based on a traditional Japanese format of three-line, seventeen-syllable poems, the Haiku-comics are short graphic pieces that use words and images to capture moments in life – of love and sexual desire, heartbreak and joy – encounters between people, and between a man and his inner self.
After creating more than 50 haiku-comics, I decided to re-image some of them in the form of short videos, that capture the spirit of the original in cinematic format.
